When purchasing monofilament fishing line, it is invariably curled. Either from sitting on the spool or wound in a small package. It wont do to fish with the line curled, so take a scrap of rubber (like bicycle inner-tube or inner-tube patch swatch) and lightly pinch the line with it. Now firmly, but not hard or fast enough to heat your fingers, pull the line through. It is important not to get the line hot as this will weaken it, you are just looking to warm it.
