Ok, If you go, you should know: - There are bears. Food items must be locked in bear bins.
- Dogs are not allowed on the hiking trails.
- Mosiquitos are plentiful.
- Camp sites are first-come-first-served. Try arriving on Tuesday. It worked for me.
- The Kings River is fast and dangerous. Bring a wading staff, but generally stay out of the water.
- It will cost $20 to enter the park - plus $18/night to camp.
I suggest the following flies - small - #16 is the biggest size I caught with:
- Air-Head (killed 'em)
- Elk Hair Caddis (worked on Browns mostly)
- Messy Bessy (killed 'em) - Tying instructions on this site
- Pheasant Tail Flash-back nymph
- Bead-headed Copper John (green)
- Midge nymphs (black and white killed 'em)
