Piru Creek December 2007 - Last Trip of the Year

The creek is running hot 'n' cold for me.  Every second or third week I find several wild trout in a certain hole, then they are gone and the hole is dry.  The fish aren't big - the trout pictured below is only about 5".

I have caught some decent trout at Piru Creek (Frenchman Flats), but not one of them "legal" (12" or longer), not that I would keep them anyway.  Certain portions of the creek are catch-n-keep, but I hope they get released regardless of the section being fished.  The water levels are back up, and it could become a decent fishery again if the trout are allowed to survive.
